The site visit:

Dear All; Bill reporting for duty. The esquisse exercise on the first day was what everyone was expecting. My group and I are working on indepth analysis over the duration of the weekend. The site visit was great and more than easy to access as a reference point throughout the whole project. The site is sloping downwards towards the west. It was clear from the short visit to the site the integration required for such future buildings to exist within a university hub. Each building houses a different school from the creative arts and the facilities that they require. This future hub incorporates the building for applied design. Philippe Stark an informally trained architect, industrial designer and interior designer comes to mind. There is a person who can make a building out of a beautifully designed 'paper weight', and not the other way around. He has designed numerous objects. Among them Olympic flame for the 1992 winter Olympics and the famous multi purpose hall and bar in Asahi, Tokyo, (the one with the the lightning bolt , backlit and cantilevered from the top floor across the piazza) . Stark's work has an instant theatrical attraction. His forms and gestures are just as worthy as seen within his industrial exploits as compared to his bold buildings.

regards Bill

Thanks for the comment Jeremy. I hope my physical model gives you a further indication of the spaces I have designed within and around this building. The central 'piazza' joins the three buildings, within this site and allows access to a larger Cunningham St, 'piazza'.
